Being asked to photograph my first Oklahoma wedding was an honor — and the day for Mr & Mrs Highfill in Guthrie was everything I hoped it would be: wholehearted, full of joy, and rich with storytelling moments. Nestled just north of the Oklahoma City area, Guthrie set the scene for their celebration, and I loved every second of capturing it.
The morning started calm and bright, with the bride getting ready in soft natural light and the groom checking his tie, both full of excitement. I loved the small details — the smile when she first saw her dress, his laugh with his best men. The ceremony and reception blended together in that perfect mix of meaning and fun. It felt both intimate and celebratory.
Throughout the day, my camera followed light, emotion, and connection. From that quiet moment just after “I do,” to the hug between sisters, to the dance floor alive with laughter and movement — these two made it easy to capture authenticity. It was a reminder that while it was my first Oklahoma wedding, I hope it’s the first of many.
